I purchased this tractor and loader new in October '99. It is equipped with turf tires, since most of my use is mowing. Front tires are Carlisle, rears are Bridgestone. The LA 401 loader is left attached which counterbalances the trailer type finish mower and also the 5 ft brush hog that I use for mowing and saves me the trouble of storing it separately.I love this tractor, it is much easier to use than my '47 Ford 2N which it replaced...BUT from day 1 the front tires lose about 5 PSI PER WEEK and have even gone flat on one occasion. I think this is excessive and have had the tire that went flat remounted and I reinflated BOTH front tires with FIX-A-FLAT to see if the sealant would help (yes, I know the gas is flammable). I try to keep the pressure between 25 & 30 PSI in the front tires due to the loader. Is it possible that the front tires might not be up to the loader being on the machine all the time?(when I park the machine between uses the weight of the bucket rests on the barn floor)Anyone else have this experience??? Any suggestions??Hal in PA

Hal, it sounds to me like you need to have a competent tire man check your tires (and be sure you tell him you put that fix-a-flat stuff in there; which I wouldn't do under any circumstances). There are lots of possibilites; small punctures, bead improperly seated, trash or debris between tire bead and rim, valve core leaking, bad valve stem, etc. There are a number of "stop leak" products on the market that you can put in tires to prevent leaks, but the fix-a-flat is not one of them. It's just a temporary emergency measure. ....

Hal, Get a spray bottle old windex any thing that will spray. Mix a 3-5 to 1 or so mixture of dish soap (1) and water (3-5). Spray around the tire keeping it wet. Do the beads also. You gotta be patient to find a slow leak. Mark the leak area and like Bird said get a GOOD tire repair person to clean up bead area and patch as needed. Good luck! Of course there is always a tube option. ....

When we have trouble like what you are experiencing we just put tubes in the tires and get it over with. We have fought with these tires before and some are fine and some not but it does seem strange not to find something when you are losing the amount that you are. ....

I had the same problem with m B2710. The left tire kept loosing air. After having this tire looked at three times, I finally discoved that the left tire was the same size as the right tire, but it had a different sized rim. With using the loader and now having the same size tire and rims, I have had no problems....yet. ....

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Interesting to note that the tire that went flat on my 2710 was ALSO the left front. It looks like I have a few things to check out. I'm sure one of them will work out.

I had a similar problem with my 2400, same set up. I finally popped the tire off, took it to a local garage and had a tube put in. I think it cost me 10-15 bucks...problem solved. ....
